Executive Management

President and Chief Executive Officer; Chairman

Noah joined GRSB in 1999 and the board in 2005. He is the fourth generation of the Wilcox family to lead the bank. Noah has served both the local community and the banking industry in numerous volunteer leadership positions.  Recently, Noah concluded his term as chairman of the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation after serving seven years on their board of directors.  Noah was appointed a state director for the Independent Community Bankers of America, a nation association for community banks, after serving five years on their board as an elected director and two years as a member of their executive committee.  After six years serving the Independent Community Bankers of Minnesota, Noah became chairman of the state association in August of 2012.  He has served as a past director and past chairman of the Itasca County Family YMCA, as a an advisor to the Itasca Econmic Development Authority and as a director and past president of the Grand Rapids Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society, delivering on his belief that community bankers have a civic duty to be proactive participants in the communities they serve. Noah is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas and the University of Wisconsin – Madison’s Graduate School of Banking.

Vice Chairman

Steven initiated his association with Grand Rapids State Bank as a student in 1964. After graduating from St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN, his full time work status began in June 1971. He currently serves as President of the bank holding company, Wilcox Bancshares, Inc. Steven has served in various industry and community leadership posts over his 40 year career. In 2007, he was named "Banker of the Year" by Northwestern Financial Review.

Chief Operating Officer; Senior Vice President

Shelly joined GRSB in 1990 and has held numerous staff and supervisory positions throughout the bank. She is currently Chief Operating Officer and a Senior Vice President. She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management and a master’s degree in management from the College of St. Scholastica. Shelly is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking's Senior Management Program. She is a 2007 recipient of Finance and Commerce's Top Women in Finance and a 2008 recipient of NorthWestern Financial Review's Outstanding Women in Banking. Shelly has served on the St. Joseph’s Catholic Elementary School Board, where she also served as Past President.  In January of 2013, Shelly was elected to the Independent Community Bankers of Minnesota Board of Directors as District 9 Director.  She serves on the Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital's Board of Directors and is active in numerous other community and civic organizations.

Senior Vice President, Lending

With over 20 years of banking experience, Al leads the bank's Business and Personal Banking teams. He joined GRSB in 2008 as Senior Vice President of Lending after serving most recently as market president of KleinBank Victoria. Al holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from St. John's University and has graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison's Graduate School of Banking. Al is also a graduate of the Minnesota Bankers Association's Commercial Lending School and the American Bankers Association's National Commercial Lending School.

Senior Vice President; Director

Ed joined the GRSB board in 1996 and the bank's senior management team in 2008.  For 20 years, Ed worked as an executive of Blandin Paper Company with responsibilities for public affairs and human resources.  He is president of MotherLode North America and the principal of Zabinski Consulting, LLC.  Ed was elected to the Grand Rapids City Council in November 2008.  He serves as president of the City of Grand Rapids Economic Development Authority; as a board member of the Northland Foundation and Northspan. He earned an associate’s degree from Vermillion Community College, a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University and a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
