We are celebrating our 100th birthday!
Grand Rapids State Bank has been part of the Grand Rapids area since June 1914, so during 2014 we are celebrating our 100th birthday with a variety of events all year long. The events will underscore key themes of localness, family and our community. These core concepts of local, community and family were on display at the Reif Center Friday, January 3, when GRSB held a Community Variety Show to kick off the centennial year celebration. The show featured exclusively local talent including Sam Miltich, the Reif Dance Company, Mary & Don LaPlant, the Grand Rapids High School Jazz Choir, Steve Downing, Maggie Anderson and Olivia Skaja, and the Dowling family band. The finale was a once-in-a-century performance by the GRSB Centennial Choir made up exclusively of GRSB employees and family members.
“We intend to celebrate monthly so we can reach as many segments of our customer base and community as we can,” said Senior Vice President Ed Zabinski. “Our plan includes events for all customers including children and families, young adults and seniors. We also have an event planned for our employees and their families for without them none of this would be possible.”
"For 100 years, this bank has been a reflection of the community it has supported," stated GRSB President and CEO Noah Wilcox. "As the community has grown, the bank has grown with it; they are interdependent . When the community suffered setbacks during the past 100 years, the bank felt that pain, too.”
